Ok, this got panned, and as I said in my short note on The Last Jedi, they dropped the ball and pandered to the toxic fanboys and backtracked on all the good stuff in TLJ.
However, this isn't as bad as people think and is worth a rewatch.

The alternative ending version of this film is the only version to watch of this.
That ending just helps make the film make more sense than the original, theatrical cut.
Take this all on face value. Everyone involved is having a ball, hamming it up, chewing the scenery, poking fun at themselves. Do so? And you’ll have fun.
Expect anything more and you’ll be sorely disappointed.
I’m firmly in the former.
The real MVP of all of this, is Aubrey Plaza, who is just electric! She steals this away from Hugh Grant who is living his best life recycling his Paddington 2/Pheonix Buchanan pantomime villain.
Could easily be seen as setting up a new franchise, but personally I can’t see this getting very far with that notion.
