I see what they were trying to do with this— and Sasheer Zamata deserves better, the whole cast does—but this did not land at all with me. I'd love for this to be the Black acerbic, awkward millennial rom com that it's trying to be, but the writing was just not strong enough. The editing wasn't great either. The premise didn't really make sense to begin with.
