An espionage movie featuring a husband that fucking loves his wife. They literally confess they would kill for each other. The friend group is a bit toxic though.

Absolute gut wrench of a movie. I knew it was gonna be a hard movie with the premise being about kidnapped children but the film’s writing, casting choices and acting performances were beyond anything I expected. The intriguing contrast of Hugh Jackman as the desperate grieving father taking extreme measures to find his daughter and Jake Gyllenhaal as the dedicated detective trying to solve the case. Their characters roles combined with the film’s twists and turns elevated this movie to being one of the best crime dramas I have seen since Silence of the Lambs.

I believe this film can be relatable to anyone that struggles with any form of self identity and/or has an unhealthy attachment to something as a coping mechanism. As someone that finds themselves on…
