The ultimate disrespect was giving this movie the same title as the books.
One of the best parts of the series is the complex culture of the society, and how the beauty standard is used to control people. There wasn’t enough time spent to emphasize the politics between uglys and prettys; it shouldn’t be simply reduced to one is beautiful and one is not because that isn’t the point.
