obviously there is a lot more to say about this, but that little Austrian kid in a coat chasing them and shouting Papa over and over fully creeped me out ngl

actually OBSESSED with this. The whole way through I was blown away, couldn’t get over how good it looked. the colours (!), the costumes (!!), the set design, the choreographies, the score!!! Everything about this was just perfect. Need to watch it again and again and shoot it into my veins ngl

I can't even begin to describe the incredible transformation of Marion Cotillard in this movie: her character is crude, rough, raw, coarse, even her voice, even her very movements and posture manifest her uncouth and somewhat vulgar background and attitude. She's exquisitely detestable. What Cotillard delivers here is a truly remarkable performance which hooked me from the very beginning, despite my utter disdain for the persona.

Some very good singing is also protagonist in this movie, definitely worth a listen…

Absolutely gorgeous, a little gem about a young boy (who vaguely reminds me of the character of Donnie Darko) struggling to fit in in high school, sprinkled with great music (David Bowie and The Smiths anyone?) and a sensitive and delicate understanding of the problems and the perks of this age.

Loved the chemistry between Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, and the reference to the Rocky Horror Picture Show - although it felt a bit like it was put there "just because", like a sort of wink to the more mature audience.
