  ...THAT'S the song he's dancing to on the stairs? I thought that was a meme. Christ.

  I did not like this movie! The score was great, the cinematography was very nice, and Joaquin Phoenix can do this in his sleep. I'm pretending his Oscar was for You Were Never Really Here or justice for being overlooked in The Master. But this was not for me.   This was really excellent, tense and trippy, and a great commentary on parasocial celebrity relationships and how fucked up they are. There are a couple of brutal sexual assault scenes in this, and the fact that it’s animation doesn’t lessen how upsetting they are. I’d still recommend it, but just as a heads up.
