About as bad as it gets for Marvel. Terrible writing and editing. The CGI is horrendous. You can feel every re-write and re-shoot that this movie went through. The writing is some of the laziest I’ve ever seen and there’s nothing interesting in the third act at all. I feel bad for Anthony Mackie, he did his part but this was a crappy production to get stuck with.

What a frustrating and disappointing film. I love Joker (2019) and really admired the boldness of telling a gritty and dark character study by using DC IP. 10 year old me watching Batman the Animated Series and loving Hamill’s take on the Joker never could’ve imagined that kind of big budget movie existing. Let alone the fact that it earned 11 Oscar nominations (winning 2) and grossed over a billion dollars.
