Visually stunning as always
Really captured the complexities of progress vs the environment. The people of Irontown are just wanting to get by, the forest is just trying to survive. My attempt to put the conflict into words any more wouldn't do it justice.
I found myself siding with San so much more than Ashitaka, wanting stronger action to be taken, but I'm sure that's a pitfall and also the point.
I don't think I can really put all my thoughts on this film into words.
I really enjoyed Robert Pattinson's performance, and the first half of the film. Unfortunately, things kind of fell apart in the second half. The end especially really seemed to drag.
I kept asking my self "what was the point of this scene, this character, this plot point." Steven Yeun's character and the loan shark threat felt like it could've/should've been cut entirely. And that dream sequence at the end? Felt out of place and unnecessary.
There were also many things…
A fun holiday film, very reminiscent of 90s coming of age movies. A refreshing and incredibly funny experience
