Barbie 2023
I went in with extremely tempered expectations and left having now throughly enjoyed Barbie twice in the past 48 hours.
The themes are definitely overexplained at times (I got some weird Ted Lasso vibes occasionally), but I think it is done in a way that’s effective slightly more often than it isn’t.
At the end of the day, Barbie is an absolute hoot. Just a hilarious movie that I never intended on taking too seriously. Though to be fair, the film itself asks you to do the exact opposite.

Would you honestly expect me to watch anything else on my 27th birthday?
Really not sure how I would have gotten through the past few years of my life without this film. I still have no idea what the hell I'm doing, but I now have a much better idea of what I want and I’m working everyday to try and make it happen.
