Most remakes really drop the ball but not this one. Aggressive and beautiful all at the same time. I’ll always love the 1930 film but this really impresses me every time I see it. This newer film adjusts a few plot points without ever losing the heart of the text. In fact, it almost seems like it avoids challenging the best parts of the original film, which more re-interpretations should consider doing. In my eyes anyway.

We Live in Time 2024
Hard to watch at times because it’s so raw in how it unfolds the events we all go through in one way or another. Very relatable in the most difficult of ways. There were one or two moments that seemed a bit of a stretch for me… a petrol station for one. But otherwise a great look at the ups and downs of life and love. It’ll make you look at the people you love and give them an extra hug. We need more of that these days.
