RIP to one of the boldest,  singular and unwavering artists of our time.

David Lynch was an artistic genius, and a profoundly kind soul. I had the chance to meet him twice at readings/book signings, and he was every bit as kind and whimsical as he came across. After he shook my hand, I said to him; “Mr. Lynch, I adore your movies even though I don’t understand them”, and his response was simply; “Let me tell you sonny…neither do I!”

It’s wild how most of the time you think about the Matrix is bale cause it’s being parodied, or memed or whatever. If you go a few years without seeing it, it’s a pleasant reminder when you do watch it of how incredibly well this holds up. It’s memes and parodies because of how iconic it is and was

The effects and visuals were like nothing we had seen before. Whole new technologies created for the film Lucas/Cameron style.…

    Absolutely stunning

When I first watched and logged this, I joked that films that sweep the Oscar’s don’t usually come out that early in the year. Well it didn’t sweep. It won a couple, and was nominated for best picture. I think it should have won honestly.

Everything from the performances, the action, choreography, to the cinematography and lighting is better than the first

I see a lot of people rip this for being long or boring or bloated. Do they…

Not deserving of all the hate

It’s not as good of a film as Ragnarok, but it is very entertaining

Its biggest problem is its wildly uneven tone. The comedy is even more over the top and absurd than Ragnarok, but that is counterbalanced with a villain and subplot that is the darkest yet in the franchise. Thematically, and just visibly dark. So the film has a very incongruous vibe.

I’ve talked before about recent Marvel output that takes the…

Super bleak classic folk horror from Tigon-AIP and the all too short career of Michael Reeves

This really doesn’t try to sugarcoat the witch hunts

It’s wild that he was 23 or 24 when he made this
