I like my movies like I like my women: A good sense of humor and an ending that leaves me hurt. Also cleavage.

In 2016 at the Libertarian National Convention, Gary Johnson was booed when he suggested that perhaps driver’s licenses might be a good thing “I’d like to see some competency exhibited by people before they drive.” Booed.

Ironically, the whole debate feels Lynchian when another candidate says “What’s next, requiring a license to make toast in your own damn toaster?”

This is how I feel watching Eraserhead aggressively refuse any semblance of a plot. I’ll be booed for this take.

Unrealistic. There’s no way there are nine virgins in Manhattan.

This feels like it takes place in a reality where women are not allowed to vote.

“As you fly over the continent you see the journey of the ice in reverse. Each year the ice inches its way from the heart of the continent to the sea into which it finally melts.”

For a movie with minimal story, it narrated well. While the camera pans of Antarctica I kinda felt like I’d lost someone too. Maybe we’ve all seen the ice melt.
A lot of good music. There’s a solid idea here, but it’s executed more like an hypothesis than an experiment.

    “Dude that’s my hat”

We ruined it man. We freaking ruined it. The world was never gonna pass by and leave the American west untampered, but it’s still sad to reflect on what unfolded less than 150 years ago.

My fear is that in 50 years I’ll be watching a historical movie and a title card will pop up at the end explaining to the viewer how we re-zoned and eventually erased National Parks. And I’ll say “we ruined it.”…
