Hi. Big fan of werewolves here. Even devoted a whole chapter of my book to them. Was really excited for a new wolf man movie. Instead what I got was a movie about a broken marriage and a mother’s envy. But at the end she wins, because horror today is all about the overt messaging. The transformation was kinda cool, that’s where Werewolf movies make or break. I just thought that the narrative was forced, it moved too quick, the acting was bleh the foreshadowing was uncreative, the dialog was artificial, and there were really no notable shots.

Gothic horror at its finest. The long monologues and single shot scenes were a delight. A lot of the shots in the film harken back to the original, wide frame, with a character meekly in a corner. It managed to recapture the shadow play that the original did so well without the black/white. Way better than the second one. To be honest I’m not even a big gore fan, but what I appreciate about the Terrifier movies is that there’s a sort of complex narrative underneath them in which Art is just one of many characters created by the main character’s fathers comic books.
