Shunned by his colleagues, eccentric scientist Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz (Willem Dafoe) is on the verge of a breakthrough. In his loneliness, he makes good friends with a talking lab rat (Lily Rose Depp) and they go on various misadventures. I Saw the Devil 2010
This film is brave. The violence effects are on par with Grindhouse horror. The action is like a slick Bourne thriller. Some of the shots read like Zucker brothers gag set up shots. At no point did they consider not to do any of the following. With the faith that it would be carried by the main performances. This faith is rewarded in kind.
