  Idk. I’ve not found either of the Chaplin movies I’ve seen to be particularly funny or entertaining. Each joke goes about three minutes longer than it should. Like when we first see Hynkler. The fake German is hilarious! …And then the scene is like eight minutes long. Chaplin seems to specialize in beating the punchline ‘til it’s dead and bloody. Combined with the general discomfort that comes from the lack of American knowledge about the camps in 1940, this wasn’t an enjoyable watch for me 🤷‍♂️
