These are my initial thoughts. Obviously, a modern perspective from a Latina woman.
I feel that it is the epitome of white man syndrome. As I was reaching the skinheads scene I was almost hoping he would die. When he turned out to be some kind of hero I felt it to be so emblematic of how the white man, can never do wrong. The whole film is obviously so dated. I feel like pure misinterpretation of how the “hood”…
