Finally got a chance to see this classic, and only wish I hadn’t already know about some of the more iconic moments through pop culture.
A well written psychological thriller, dripping with tension that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. the violence was so intense and surprising, and probably one of the best adaptions of a Stephen king book I’ve seen.
The sherif and his wife were so delightful
The first hour is really solid and builds up some interesting points of intrigue and tension with Sam Wilson and where his character is as Captain America. However as the plot kicks in a lot of that goes to the way side to focus on the broader crisis. This all gets wrapped up before the movie ends leaving us with a climatic battle that weirdly doesn’t feel like it has enough tension or stakes.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
My first Wallace and Gromit film. A poignant movie about the dangers of AI and how easily it can be abused, all made with beautiful labour intensive claymation. Wallace doesn’t deserve Gromit.
