Mad Max: Fury Road 2015
This was my entry point into the Mad Max franchise, as I’m sure it was for a lot of moviegoers in 2015.
In hindsight, what an absolutely insane introduction.
This is just a completely different beast than the other entries. The world. The premise. The filmmaking. All feel heightened in comparison to previous entries in the franchise. This movie completely warped my understanding of Mad Max to the point that it was hard to judge the previous movies fairly.
Goddamn, this movie goes hard. I thought time would dull my enthusiasm. Hahaha what a stupid notion. I love this movie. No notes.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome 1985
Clearly the weakest of the Mel Gibson trilogy, but I didn’t hate it! For a movie called Beyond Thunderdome, it reads as a bit tame to me, especially when compared to The Road Warrior. The actual Thunderdome sequence absolutely did not deliver, and closing set piece feels a bit like a pale imitation of TRW’s climax.
Still, I loved Tina Turner and the kids, even if we didn’t really get enough time with either of them.

The Batman 2022
There are a lot of really striking, memorable shots in this. Great sound design. Giacchino’s score is amazing. The action is pretty solid. There really aren’t any outright bad performances; Zoë Kravitz standouts as the most sympathetic and recognizably human character. I love RPatz’s hilariously emo Bruce Wayne. I think there’s a part of his performance that recognizes how childish and developmentally arrested Bruce Wayne would have to be to put on a bat costume and “fight crime” every night.…

Tenet 2020
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
We all know that Doctor Who did the “time travelers meeting at opposite ends of their shared timeline” thing first.
Lol I really thought y’all were exaggerating about this movie being a mess. As a pure set piece machine, it works like gangbusters. As an exercise in narrative coherence, LOL STAHP.
