  There are three things I'm certain of regarding this. 1, the cinematographer isn't aware that when you mix standard light bulbs with professional lighting, it will make every actor look like a tomato. B, the boom mic was broken, or had a jumper wrapped around it to muffle the sound further. 3, the American mother was heavily tranquilised. Incompetent drivel.

  I did my utmost to not consider Herzog's version prior to watching this and I will say that this started really, really well. However, the history of Murnau and Herzog hangs very heavy, and I couldn't help feel that Eggers was quite insistent on replacing the traditional Nosferatu narrative with his own flights of fancy. Despite being 40 minutes longer than the other versions, it somehow felt very, very rushed. The Demeter scenes in particular felt almost like an afterthought,…
