Die Hard 1988
This was my third? time watching Die Hard. The pacing is excellent, all of the characters are properly introduced, and all of the dialogue matters. I actually feel like I'm living at the speed of life when I watch this. None of the characters come out of this night perfect or even markedly improved as individuals, but everyone is certainly changed: they are instilled with hope. Hope for themselves and each other and their future. It's noice, it's vulnerable, it's human. Anyway, sometimes all you need to find a new perspective on life is to be held hostage at Nakatomi Plaza!

The Martian 2015
My mom still calls me all these years later and says, "They played your favorite movie on TV again." I watched this repeatedly back in the day because, well, they played it on TV all the time. Matt Damon, America's damsel in distress, lives as a potato fiend as he tries to figure out how to escape a nice little planet that is unintentionally hostile to life. Kind of like how I had to figure out how to get off my college campus. It's great. I'd probably watch this movie again.

Mickey 17 2025
Saw this one in IMAX. I was impressed by Pattinson's acting and his voice delighted from the start. The cast was excellent and went hard as hell. Bong's got another set of funky cute little fantastical creatures here too. However, this story was bursting with wonderful ideas it just couldn't satisfactorily engage with. Many of the carefully designed characters, relationships, and conflicts were conveniently wrapped for time's sake. Mickey 17's tremendous, fated, idealist ending worked overtime to adhere to what…

Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
Two years to come up with this plot...bubs, I hope a version of me in another timeline goes to write for the disney marvel whatever the fuck multi billion dollar evil dumpster fire of a company is responsible for this so i can fix it, because even the worst version of me could do better than this. Two hours of empty funny hahas alternating between dancing on and curb stomping corpses of self-awareness. I'm happy for the people who enjoyed working on this project, I'm glad Ryan and Hugh and Dogpool are happy, but I ultimately do not believe justice was served here today
