I had zero idea there was gonna be such a massive cliffhanger. I probably would have said this was an absolutely spectacular film, but now it’s legacy really rests on part two so let’s see, I’m excited.
There’s a lot I really enjoyed about this. The vegas colours, the soundtrack, the cinematography, the acting is all excellent. There’s a lot of common themes in this that are synonymous with Scorsese films. I did not understand why Ace would choose Ginger as his wife , I know he basically says the same thing but I don’t know, it just didn’t make sense to me.
This was really good. I enjoyed every minute and found the characters to be very relatable even outside of the amazing bond between father and son.
I think it perfectly captures the moments we would try redo if possible and even more importantly, it drives home how truly bittersweet it may be to relive our fondest memories.
The time travel element can’t be taken too literally or your head would explode but I think if they spent some more time trying to figure that out I’d have given it 5 but maybe that’s my nerdy dude coming out.
I just watched this on its re-release in the cinema and I have to say I thought that this was absolutely fantastic. An absolute spectacle that holds up so well considering it was released in 2009. It was obviously cutting edge then but while the 3D hype has faded it is still a much better experience when you put on the glasses.
People often say that they can't remember any characters names, there's no real memes that come from it…
