Dune: Part Two 2024
Fourth time watching this but first time watching at home. This movie still rips (but of course 100x better in IMAX). So this time around i was more focused on performances and writing since i couldn’t be as in awe of the visuals and sound. Was really locked in on Timmy and Butler on this viewing. I had pretty low expectations going in. I don’t listen to Dylan, don’t know much about his story and biopics about musicians that you don’t know are typically boring af. But i had to do my duty since it’s getting recognized.
Overall, i thought it was solid and it exceeded my low expectations. Timmy really pulled it off. He sounded just like him and Mangold didn’t shy away from showing him playing guitar/harmonica which was important for me. Monica Barbaro was captivating. Loved their songs together. Story was pretty down the middle and fine but the music did it for me.
