When I first saw The Big Lebowski, I was convinced it was a film that needed to be rewatched to be fully appreciated. Seeing it in the cinema helped tremendously with this. There were two guys in front of me who screamed like hyenas throughout, which made me laugh even harder at parts I already found funny.
John Goodman's performance here is genuinely perfect—every reference to 'Nam, every "shut the fuck up, Donnie" is utterly hilarious. Plus, the Lujon needle drop, the goat Philip Seymour Hoffman appearing (I completely forgot he was in this)—all made the experience even better.
