i thought this would be scary for me to watch since it’s based on one of my worst fears (phrogging). i was wrong - they somehow managed trivialise it with alec’s false, ‘edgy’ behaviour and i found him to be more annoying than frightening. don’t get me started on how predictable the supposed plot twist was.. boring!

this honestly worked better for me as a comedy than it did a horror for me because of the endless loopholes this guy managed to get through. the amount of times he stood up and walked around the concert alone should have been more than a red flag for security.. the only semi-enjoyable part was the plot twist towards the end of the film! i was really looking forward to watching this but was pretty disappointed

this film was a complete waste of time. i knew going into it that it would use tropes from slasher  films like friday the 13th and texas chain saw massacre but i wonder how many minutes were wasted watching the killer skulking around in the woods, or better yet just staring at bushes. the SFX were nothing special either and the whole 90s vibe was confused with the use of current day phones and references to cancel culture. i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

very stylised cinematography which i enjoyed (especially the 70s/80s feel) however it was quite dark for the majority of the film which in actuality didn’t do much for the atmosphere! i usually don’t enjoy nicholas cage’s acting so his performance here was refreshing although he was not on screen very often. the concept seemed super interesting at first but the twist turned this movie into your stereotypical ‘hail satan’ spook which i personally don’t find to be scary at all. in fact it ended up becoming quite boring
