  For the first time in my time on letterboxd, I cannot give a star rating. I feel like I just grabbed a random brownie out of an odd flatmate’s cupboard and it turned out to be baked with LSD. I ask myself, can you even bake brownies with LSD? Then I look at the screen as this movie plays and the question instead turns into “how much LSD was in that brownie?”

  A Real Pain 2024

  My biggest issue here is that when a movie lacks a plot, it must make up for it with dialogue. 

  A Real Pain was ironically just that. A real pain for not trying a little harder. 

  I usually love this genre, and I can definitely see the deeper themes here, but it was just like “oh, it’s over? Ok” and then I forgot I even watched it as soon as I walked out of the screen.
