Edit: I mean Wong Kar-Wai clearly loves beautiful things — it seems to be a major driving force in his movies but this movie, in a sense, is so weird that I’m distracted from how hot and noir-esque (but not totally?) the characters are while I try to figure out what’s actually going on and why all of the characters are sort of just moving through all the chaos without commenting on it.
