ambitious film. trying to comment on life, god, beauty, loss, love, pain, family, and more. visually i think it succeeded, showing us scenes of creation, prehistory, fantasy, space, youth, adulthood and afterlife while retaining a thread. narratively, it worked best in showing the effects of love and pain in young jack: how he and his brothers started so happy and innocent in their eden, how innocence was lost, and then how he developed: how he hugged and kissed and tried…
