  A very strong picture with a lot to love about it. My favorite part by far is its visual creativity, how it finds such interesting and eye-catching ways to dramatize its core themes. I especially like the endless room ladder symbolizing the immigration system, which truly is an impossible battle for anyone who didn’t make the system in the first place. (Seriously, fuck our immigration system - and most countries’ systems as well.) A lot of sharp, yet goofy humor…

  Most people I've talked to said they enjoyed the first half but didn't like the second, and I genuinely wonder if we watched the same movie, because it's the exact opposite for me. I'll be honest, I thought the first half just flat-out sucked. I didn't find it scary or thrilling at all, the characters felt extremely stereotypical - Clarice-esque lead, stern Black authority figure, etc. - and I honestly didn't think Maika Monroe's performance was very good at all.…
