I'm not as reverent of David Lynch as many are, but this movie blew me away. The first time I watched it was Junior year of college in a crappy apartment with my friends, one of our friends only managed to join us in the middle of the movie, and as soon as we finished it we started it over again on his behalf and watched it a second time.

Not very good. Kind of an unremarkable gangster tale that does not even service any historical truths.
I have a high tolerance for historical fiction taking "creative liberties" with their stories. They do so to convey some sort of greater truths.
