These kind of stories about war should be talked about more often. There are too many big films out there that glorify war and praise dying for a country that probably wouldn't even die for you (the higher-ups and other "cogs in the machine", as one of the characters phrased it). They do mention belief in religion as being one reason for being anti-war, but the bigger focus in this movie was, and can be summed up by what the main character said, "belief in man, that we are better than this."

I loved Arrival and this movie reminded me of it, except with more dialogue (a lot more). Regardless of how others mentioned it was a low budget production, it was really good to watch bc of how thought-provoking it was. It mentioned concepts of time and [the limits of] our human-ness. It made me think as much as I did with Mr. Nobody and Fight Club. If you're into that, I recommend this for sure.
