Godzilla Minus One 2023
THE Godzilla movie of all time, never have I ever experienced the actually dread and horror of impending doom that Godzilla holds until THIS film. They balance their screen time with the humans and Godzilla in such a way that makes it feel like it isn’t a drag to get through. They breathe so much charm and so when things eventually go to shit, you can empathise with the human characters so much more. Never thought a movie like this would have me crying at the end. ABSOLUTE PEAK.

Memoir of a Snail 2024
This film has whimsy, character and overall heart, loneliness can truely eat someone up inside. Though I think Mary and Max is better of the two, it still had me in feels at the end, it tackles so many things and doesn’t dwell on them too much, not saying there isn’t any stakes, but the pacing is nice. It also really captures that Australian town nostalgic vibe that I do so adore.
