I really wish Steve would go back to films like this and Shame.
This one is a pure engrossing intense wonder.

    Complex.
    70mm.
    Shades of grey.
    Deeply Spiritual.
But also how deep truthful spiritual beliefs can fuck people over.
A film about colonisation long before most considered it.
This movie allows you the room to feel, and think in your own time and terms.
    This is an unsung gem.
    Love is a powerful force.
But it can be misguided and destructive.
fighting for what you believe can feel noble, but oddly, also the coward’s path.
And just quietly, stay the fuck away from countries that aren’t yours.

    How to Make Gravy

Funding bodies, for fuck’s sake stop giving money to rich people to make shit films. I know you’re all from the private school talentless mafia but it’s killing our culture.
A person from an elite private school writes a prison working class drama - based on a song by a dude with wealth privilege… Hmmm… is that two reasons why this feels so inauthentic?
And is Henshaw on the equipment list for “Aussie” male roles? Can’t act with any truth…

A peaceful heart lifting collaboration between two great artists.
I saw this with Valley D and our walk home felt like we were in  a new city, not the place I’ve lived most of my life. That’s how good this film is. It reminds you of important truths that you know, deep down, but have let slip as you hustle through life, caring about shit that doesn’t matter.
Uncle Win’s been away a while but we are blessed with this sweet visit.
