Wow et cetera. So consistently thoughtful and relentlessly perfect it almost leaves you spent. Found myself longing for a frame or a scene below par enough to pause and catch my breath and my brain.
Like sitting an exam you’re fully prepared for and getting the perfect question when flipping the page - engaging, rewarding, even thrilling, but at the same time, if you’re exhausted, you wouldn’t mind stepping outside for some air or checking your phone with a cigarette halfway through.

Pride & Prejudice 2005
A beautiful cinematic achievement often overshadowed by the potency of the plot it builds itself upon.
This is my favourite Austen novel, so I had high hopes after watching the brilliant ‘95 adaptation that this would live up to the billing. I confess, I was worried that the essential “slow-burn” between Darcy and Lizzie was going to be lost in the format of a film, but they managed to get their timings just right. Every scene served it’s purpose.
