Junebug 2005
Amy carries SO hard she deserved a co-director credit. Crazy that this random little indie contains what might be her greatest work. From her first scene yapping in the kitchen to her brutal catharsis in the hospital, you see everything that would make her into a star. Little bits of what she’d do in Enchanted, Arrival, even The Muppets pop up in Junebug.
Anyway, major props to Kevin Lima of all people for seeing this and insisting that she would be able to sell Enchanted. He hasn’t made anything since and I have to imagine he knows he’ll never be able to top that

probably way too low of a rating, it’s not like this is unwatchable or immoral, but I’m sorry I have just HAD it with these mid-low budget genre exercises that are about nothing but themselves. this is a movie about a “fuckbot” (their words, not mine) that doesn’t have a single provocative image or challenging idea.
