  Damn. Super strong opening episode, perfect almost, and then things slowly fizzle out from there. Things really take a turn for the worst in an episode three that feels more like an interrogation at Arkham Asylum than a meeting between a child psychologist and a young offender. The first two episodes are some of the best procedural drama I've seen in years but the minute it stops being that, it's kind of boring and silly.

  It's been two decades since I last saw Dark City but it was a favorite of mine as a teen so I was stoked to finally see the directors cut last night.   I was so excited for this film. The trailer had some mind blowing Guy Maddin-ish visuals and the premise, a feminist lesbian arthouse retelling of the story of Conan, seemed interesting.
