  Tremendous. One of the best-looking movies I've watched in a bit (James Wong Howe deservedly won the cinematography Oscar here) and I echo sentiments of how impressive Newman's performance is as he fights against type by portraying a real sonofabitch.

  Perhaps with better acting and/or a better script, the relatively intriguing central story would have worked. But, alas, both are awful and so is this movie.

  Super ridiculous and crazy mena but also a blast following Lee Marvin do his thing where he reluctantly tracks down people who owe him or his associates money. Loving these early Hackman performances I'm only now catching up on. Real sleazy here.

  Paper-thin in how it digs into who Nolan Ryan was and what made him great. Just zero depth. And, maybe this is callous, but his family life was just...not at all interesting.
