  My second Wes Anderson movie (first being Fantastic Mr. Fox).
  I don't know about this one. Kinda masturbatory. Doesn't have much to say. Covered in style, but that style can get exhausting. I don't hate it. I tend to eyeroll at things that get too self induglant about the act of writing/producing/directing/acting. So my criticisms are entirely subjective.
  Some things about it rocked though.

  This film feels like magic. I remembered it as lighthearted, like The Wizard of Oz, but on this rewatch I forgot just how dark and gruesome it really was. Lynch always maintains that air of whimsy and magic while showing you real pain and suffering and not subtracting from either side of the balance but rather having them reinforce each other.

  RIP David Lynch. There's never been anyone quite like you and there won't ever be again.
