morbidly fascinating but not one i’ll ever watch again. completely understand the mixed reviews - i kinda despise it and kinda think it’s brilliant at the same time. it felt at times like the body horror was trying to make up what it lacked in other departments. i think the theme has the potential to be fascinating but the way it’s been explored is super detached. the ending was doing way too much too 💔

easily 5 stars. this is the type of film that worms its way under your skin and stays there. it doesn't need flashy effects or gore or tacky jumpscares to be absolutely chilling - it gets in your head. it is believable and subtly macabre, made possible of course by the incredible actors. the build of tension and slow descent into insanity and chaos is gorgeously orchestrated.
