This movie was just really unlucky that I watched Starship Troopers pretty soon after watching this movie. They were both goofy, political, and entertaining. Maybe it’s recency bias but I liked starship troopers more.

Last thing I expected was an emotional rollercoaster.
This movie is so silly and goofy and stupid which should ruin all the sad moments in the movie. Which it kind of does. But in a strange way it also elevated them. Communicating that 10 million people died through a stupid looking graphic in a silly news report is absolutely not the way to communicate that information in a serious manner. However that silliness somehow makes it depressing.
