  The sum of the parts is more interesting than the whole when it comes to MadS. It's flashy and stylish, but that style tends to mask a lot of moments of wheel-spinning before it gets to its thing. Still, there are some moments that are fascinating or exciting or unique that make this worth a watch, even if the end result doesn't ignite.

  A familiar revenge story executed in such a surprising way that it feels new again. Genuinely creepy and unsettling. Where Caveat had atmosphere to spare, Oddity marries tone with a compelling story. The result is a terrific ghost story.

  While the twist is predictable, this is still a satisfying and creepy ghost story that puts a finer point on the Whispering Corridors' series somewhat backwards views of homosexuality. It's a fascinating cultural insight, if not the most progressive narrative. And yet, despite some questionable ethos, Voice is a good twist on the high school ghosts tory established by earlier entries. Some of the imagery, like the elevator in a well of darkness, is affecting and there's a strong central performance from Ok-bin Kim. A fitting entry in the series.

  Holy Jesus! It's Batman in Thailand, only with magic and dumber! Chris Klein growls his way through an unnecessary B-plot while the titular Chun-Li stalks the streets of Bangkok. A truly bizarre and terrible film. It's either one star or five...
