Kinda in love with Gitling. Uses subtitles in a manner I've never seen before and they do it in a really cool way btw.

Most of the time I don't really see the subtitles though because I was really far but it didn't matter because I understood almost everything.

Gitling is tender and lonely but also filled with company and softness. Grounded and home. Bacolod in the screen looks beautiful and dark but-- nostalgic.

Two souls intertwining and getting close. That's my type of movie. All day.

I must admit. The cinematography is impressive. This gets a better rating simply because it's a Philippine movie and it was a fun watch.

"Shit happens. Sometimes randomly."

This is undoubtedly my favorite Filipino movie of 2019. I expect nothing from Marco Gumabao, and he did pretty damn well. Anne Curtis has a massive amount of sex appeal. But, the cinematography and the pacing really gets me here. The film knows what it's doing, and for a generic cheating plot, it gave something quite pleasant to watch.

Also, that one Anne Curtis scene. Come on. That's just. Too good. Kudos to the screenplay.

The biggest mistake the Mission Impossible franchise ever made was making an intangible villain the final boss of the saga. There are scenes where we just look at blue blob like the IMAX is about to introduce itself again.

So naturally, when they spend a whole hour maximizing the threat of this entity and spoonfeeding us with flasbacks of the films we've already seen, it comes off as a huge pile of mess that takes itself too seriously leaving us…

Film #1

This one was definitely not for me.

Feels like a slap to the face; whether it be propaganda or wealth or arrogance, it feels like MONEYSLAPPER had lots to say with nothing to show. Two hours of dragging long shots, surprise character additions, and horny writing.

Trauma plays a huge role in this film but we spend too much time looking at something when the audience already got the memo at the first second.

I'm glad…

Witnessed the talkback Q&A with the Director, Writer, and DOP. With Dolly Mother surprising us with a visit.

Sets a good standard with where the future of Star Cinema can go but it's not A Very Good movie. At times, it feels like a bunch of short stories with different themes and the longer it gets, it feels lost and just starts to do whatever it wants.

A bit confused but somewhat entertaining. Dolly De Leon certainly shows us that she's one of our best right now and Kathryn can keep up.

When you romanticize something long enough, you will like the outcome no matter the result.

I mean. How can you not be romantic about racing?

But watching it in the biggest screen you've ever seen in your first time in Taiwan? I don't know. It's special.

Past Lives is unimaginably hurtful and keeps it real to the very end. Its straightforward approach to how life just goes on and how its on you to make things happen makes it what I believe is the best movie ever written. I could never imagine going through a pain like this but Celine Song directs and writes to us the most accepting way to handle it and turns it into something unforgettable and special.

Who knew 99 would be the definitive 100?

I hope SING SING gets remembered.

This film is a beautiful change of scenery; a nice change of pace. It's thoughtful and most important of all, it's real.

It's difficult to tackle something like this when you mix the truth with a work of fiction but Colman Domingo performs his part so gracefully and passionately that the act almost becomes real.

This is a warm blanket, a nice hug, and a film that will stay in my heart forever.
