Eye candy and occasional wack humor that doesn’t work. Some great moments, performances, and  goofy humor marred by too much stupidity. It just doesn’t ever come together enough

Interesting and curiously fresh ideas but somehow still not enough. Wish it was better than it it manages to be

Not present was Soderberghs skill and talent in this one. Super disappointing, especially being a fan of his. Oh and once again… Men are horror (this one going to a teenage psychopath) Mom is also horror. Curious and interesting concept that just doesn’t hit the mark. Hugely dysfunctional family… sure but many details of don’t really seem to matter to the actual story

A powerful and magnificent gut punch of a film. Fully utilizes music and notes in an inescapable wrenching way for much of the film mercilessly riveting us as if we are also participating characters. Only through a most painful journey does this begin to shift. Phenomenal performance by best actress nominee Sandra Huller reveals itself over time and surprises you again and again. Totally worthy of winning best actress. Child actor Milo Machado-Graner just seems so impossibly good and robbed of a best supporting actor nod. Saying the dog was extraordinary somehow fails to capture what we witnessed in this film!
