Not a wasted remake but also not as good as it could have been. I appreciate the alternate direction they took in this remake, however, the ending was predictably exciting but unfortunately cowardly.
James McAvoy delivered yet another stellar performance and I think that is really the saving grace of the film.
All in all, not a complete waste of time but if you want to feel something new for a change, watch the original.

Everything I hoped for and more! It gave me closure after waiting for over a decade and a half on some characters and stories. They addressed all the forgotten heroes and the messy Disney-Fox merger, and they didn’t shy away from acknowledging the behind the scenes screw ups. Priscilla stands out with Coppola's outstanding direction, immersing us in Priscilla's mind with enchanting childlike innocence. Cailee Spaeny is extraordinary as Priscilla Presley, skillfully navigating the emotions of an innocent child caught up in the charm of Elvis Presley.

    ★★★

Funny Games left me disappointed; it was consistently slow, lacking the depth seen in many home invasion movies. While it stands out as a thriller, the potential of its concept wasn't fully realized. The unpredictable nature of the boys and the unseen events added suspense and at times disgust, but it could have benefited from more subplots. Perhaps a brief prologue about the boys. The fourth wall break in the ending was a striking moment, redeeming the film to some…
