Better than expected as I came in thinking it was simply another one man army, but with a gimmick. Novocaine not feeling pain from a genetic disorder is a neat trick for the genre, but what was really surprising was that it was done tastefully (outside of being an action movie). It made Jack Quaid’s character have more depth and sympathy while also bringing awareness of a genetic disorder that can cause severe life altering challenges.
I still can’t get past Mark Wahlberg’s hair in this movie…
Overall the movie is entertaining enough if you keep your expectations realistic. There are some clunky moments of dialogue and the story is predictable, but it is engaging to see how they come out on top.
A very fun and visually pleasing movie that goes in a direction the Transformers franchise hasn’t seen in a long time. I was at first hesitant when I saw the trailers, but the movie was much better.
