Been thinking about this for weeks
Cautionary tale/dark comedy. Brilliant writing.
Score is exceptional
Best Stan performance I’ve seen
Adam Pearson is incredible.
Loved the turn to surrealism towards end.

So well-written by Eisenberg
Really hit home for me. How we as a society are conditioned to avoid any pain or discomfort. Partially fueled by our overindulgence lifestyles and how divorced we are from true suffering on a daily basis. We don’t allow ourselves to process these things and feel the pain we should rightly be feeling.
His acting is good as well but obviously overshadowed by Culkin who completely steals every scene. Unforgettable character for me.
Great supporting performances also by Will Sharpe and the rest of the tour group
Easily one of my favorites films of the year.

Been thinking about this film a lot
I think my favorite picture of the year and Mikey Madison gives maybe my favorite performance ever. Certainly top 10.
The way she transforms into Anita is unbelievable. The accent, the attitude, the sexuality, etc.
She’s captivating.
You root for her from beginning to end as much as any character I’ve seen on screen.
The supporting characters are exceptional. So well written. I was not expecting how funny…

Really still processing this
First Tarkovsky film
Really incredibly shot. The pacing is slow but draws you in so much. The transition from the rail car to the color-filled zone is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
Some incredible sequences in the Zone that are haunting.
Lots of depth to the dialogue and philosophical ideas being discussed by 3 leads.
Clearly seems to be strong themes of environmentalism, art, suffering, happiness and human nature generally.
Ending was fascinating. Still wrapping my head around the meaning.
