Fantastic movie. Easily, top 5 films of the last decade. It stays true to the books while interjecting slight differences that did not disturb original plot continuity. The actors chosen for the main characters were spot on. The soundtrack was excellent. This film was made for the silver screen. If I had to nitpick, maybe I would’ve enjoyed seeing the Bene Gesserit developed a bit more. Also, maybe a little more development of Duncan Idaho. But, given the total length of the film already, I can see that was not possible. Timothee Chalamet was great as Paul Atreides.
Disaster of a movie. Do not go into this film hoping to get a lot of historical nods. They zoomed through 25 years in 2.5 hours. Mostly, this film exists to make Napoleon a weak and love-struck buffoon that apparently couldn’t have achieved anything noteworthy without his love Josephine. They should have called this movie Josephine. Ps- Napoleon was Corsican yet had zero Romance language accent; I felt that was cheap.
