I’m glad to say that I was a part of this, thanks to Brennan the 🐐 for allowing me to contribute to his vision. This was a blast to make and you really get a sense of that while watching, an excellent debut

    Midnight Dankness 1/4:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a project embody what it feels like to be a low budget and less popular creative. Local Legends is a hysterical, charming, and personal film from Matt Farley, his own biopic. Dare I say, the greatest biopic ever? You don’t even need to be a fan of his prior work to “get it,” I’m sure it helps but as it stands Matt Farley and co have created possibly the greatest piece…

In his second film this year, Soderbergh comes through with one of his best films to date, a sexy, sleek, clever, and deceptively simple espionage film that explores webs of deceit in personal and professional lives. When intelligence agent George Woodhouse (Fassbender) is tasked with searching for a mole within the agency, a mole that may very well be his wife Kathryn (Blanchett). George, stuck in a battle of wits in a mole chase, must decide what is more important,…

Great film that definitely needs a rewatch to investigate things further. As it stands, Charisma is a remarkably interesting film that re-contextualizes Kiyoshi’s other work for me in a way I didn’t see before. What a bizarre yet fascinating film

I respect it too much to dislike it, but it’s too messy and kinda bad to be considered “good”. I’m at a crossroads here

Best score of the year by far though

Shitty 2010’s possession movies are back! Rejoice in all the beautiful mediocrity on display! If you don’t fall asleep you can enjoy a half baked narrative about horrors favourite subject, trauma. A topic in which only Smile has really done well this year. Surprising to no one, this isn’t anything you haven’t seen before & is a pretty boring film. Who would’ve known the director of The Last Exorcism had more in him 🤷‍♂️
