Going into Horizon Chapter One it was a safe bet I was gonna like it. I’m a western fanboy, for a lack of better words. I love Costner as an actor and a director. What I didn’t expect is to be fully captivated and have this emotional experience watching this.

People have said Costner but off more than he could chew. Or his brush was too broad. I think he handled these characters perfectly. I felt their emotions in every…

By far the best and most action packed of Wayne’s ‘30s output. With some incredible stunts that standout. A story that keeps this film streaming along. I couldn’t help but love this.

Wayne plays a federal agent assigned to clean up the Wyoming territory from a group of corrupt leaders who lead gangs of outlaws. Terrorizing the homesteaders and driving them out before this historic vote. Republic Pictures went all out for this film. I was surprised how action packed…

Man I’ve been on a roll with these B Westerns starring Wayne. In this one Wayne plays a leader of a posse searching for the rustlers who killed his parents and stole his brother. 12 years later he’s finally found them. What basically ensues is a brother vs brother story where neither knows that each other are their brother. With some solid action filmed in the iconic Alabama Hills outside of Lone Pine, CA. This straight forward western is 60 minutes of classic western filmmaking. Unfortunately there’s some horse stunts that look particularly brutal, I’m pretty sure I watched a few of the horses die.

Typical of what they do, but nothing here really stood out. You still watch it for the fellas and their banter and that’s still in top form.

Scott Adkins is back with one of the years best action films. This maybe one of the best DTV action movies in the last decade. James Nunn and team did a fantastic job shooting this movie as a “oner”. It’s right up there with 1917 in  terms of editing, I noticed the edits more in 1917 than One Shot. So brilliant job by the onset editor’s for the fantastic work. Sure the acting may not be the best at times…
