Hangar 18 1980
Now i’m giving this a generous rating because of how much truth it covers under the guise of Science fiction in an era where talks of UFOs were ridiculed. Obviously we have references to Roswell, Wright Patterson base, the men in black, the cover ups, etc. It’s entertaining enough and fun for anyone interested in the subject. The acting isn’t the best nor is the CGI, but it’s to be expected.

The Substance 2024
Let me start by saying I completely understand why people loved it. It’s fresh, it’s accessible, it’s got great Body Horror, the message it’s getting across, etc. It’s not exactly the type of Horror that I seek out. A bit too (dare I say) Quentin Tarantino-ish at times? The excessive nudity/ass shots was a bit much after a while. Great homage to The Shinning, Reanimator and Basket case though! The ending was a little too ridiculous for my tastes, 3/4th…

Carnival of Souls 1962
John Linden was a whole lot scarier than “The man”. Great atmosphere, fantastic story, creepy shots, everything modern Horror movies are missing. If only we could get films like this again. Atmospheric and haunting without being ostentatious. Substance within the mood it conveys. Very comparable to episodes of The Twilight zone.
