The movie toys with several themes, the most important one being adolescence and brings home some powerful metaphors, while staying safely inside shonen-territory with the one major exception being gory violence (that is aesthetically very well done imo).
Whatever the movie tackles, it does so in a grand way, although it sometimes feels like too much, but thats probably due to the condensation (entire manga series into a feature film).
It sadly leaves a lot to be desired and explored…Translated from by
